  •     VCI WebWatch is a free web protection service offered to our residential and business customers. This service is an opt-in service only. This means you must request this service on your account in order for it to work for you. This service helps keep web sites that contain gambling, pornography, nudity, etc.. from being accessed via your VCI internet account.

Our WebWatch service has the following advantages:
    1. Free - We don't charge extra for our standard filtering.
    2. Fast - Our filtering servers won't slow down your internet connection.
    3. Server Based - This is important because you don't have to purchase or install complicated software on your computer.
    4. Filters proxy servers - This prevents the filtering from being circumvented.
    5. Denies access to offensive Web sites. (HTTP)
    6. Denies access to offensive FTP sites. (FTP)
    7. Denies access to all Newsgroups. (NNTP)
    8. Denies searches using foul words within Search Engines.
    9. The most up to date library in the world, scanning over 3 million sites per hour.
To request this service you must complete and sign VCI's standard User Agreement. All new customers are required to complete this form. The User Agreement allows you to specify how, or if, you would like to use the WebWatch service.

    How does it work?

Once the service has been enabled on your VCI account you connect to the internet as you normally do. If you try to access a restricted web site you will receive a block screen informing you that the web site is blocked and why the web site is blocked. If you have the filtering password you can enter the username and filter password to disable the filtering.

If you have questions about our WebWatch service please feel free to contact VCI.
