  • LinkSys Router

The LinkSys router is one of the easiest routers to setup. The router works reliably and has many of the options required to satisfy most users. To setup your LinkSys router for DSL connectivity follow the instructions below or call VCI at (270) 442-0060 or (800) 755-1239
    1. Use of the most recent firmware is very important. You can obtain recent firmware from the LinkSys web site at http://www.linksys.com/download/ You will be prompted for your router's modem number.
    2. Log into your LinkSys router's management interface. This is normally done by going to http://192.168.1.1 in your web browser. The default password for the LinkSys router is normally "admin".
    3. To setup the router for VCI's DSL service fill in the following settings:
      1. Host Name: This should be your VCI username.
      2. Domain Name: vci.net
      3. VCI username.
      4. WAN Connection Type: PPPoE
      5. User Name: Enter your VCI email address.
      6. Password: Enter your password.
      7. We highly recommend you check the "Keep Alive" option as shown below.
    4. Click "Apply" to save the setting and reboot the router. When the router restarts it should automatically connect.
