Dallas - October, 1996

Bill and Alicia head to Dallas on their first "road trip" and come back engaged!

Highlights:

  • Fort Worth Stockyards
  • Galleria
  • Chez Girard
  • Dallas Cowboys v. Arizona Cardinals
  • Starplex - Ozzy Osbourne concert
  • Texas State Fair
  • Miss Saigon
  • Reunion Tower
  • West End
  • Dallas Stars v. Detroit Red Wings
  • Dickey's Barbecue

Fort Worth Stockyards (10/11/96)

Billy Bob's, Booger Red's, the White Elephant, Cattleman's Stake House and an old-time photo!

Galleria (10/12/96)

A day of shopping at the Galleria, then Southfork Ranch and dinner at Chez Girard (where they tried to pull a fast one and bring a '91 St. Emilion instead of the '90 on the wine list. I called them on it and they went back and "discovered" a '90 left on the shelf. Just an innocent mistake - yeah, right!)

Dallas Cowboys v Arizona Cardinals (10/13/96)

We got engaged! Bill had a plane fly over Texas Stadium during the Cowboys / Cardinals game with the banner:

ALICIA - WILL YOU MARRY ME? - BILL

Ozzy Osbourne at Starplex (10/13/96)

Don't have any photos from OzzFest, but just imagine a Halloween party at an insane asylum gone wrong and you're close!

Texas State Fair (10/14/96)

Pat Boone was right. The Texas State Fair is the best state fair!

Miss Saigon (10/14/96)

8 years before this Broadway play made it to the Luther Carson Performing Arts Center in Paducah, we saw it at the Fair Park Music Hall.

Reunion Tower and West End (10/15/96)

We started the day by meeting a good friend, Claudette, for lunch at Reunion Tower. Then we went to the West End and stopped by Hard Rock and Planet Holleywood.

Notice I have Alicia wearing a
Red Wings shirt for the game tonight!

Dallas Start v Detroit Red Wings (10/15/96)

My two favorite hockey teams! Alicia wanted to know why the puck wasn't lit up like it was on TV so she could see it!

Dickey's Barbecue

I had to show Alicia what Texas Barbeque was like, so we stopped by Dickey's on the way out of town.
