hapter #10 – Introduction To Section Three
2Cor. 11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity (and the purity) that is in Christ.
Mat 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Ephesians 5:25-29 (nkjv)
25 . . . just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. . . . 29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church. 30 For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones.
Our Aim, Goal And Objective In This Section
I. Beginning with Chapter Ten until the end of this series, the articles will attempt to address as best as someone of my limited intelligence can understand, what the Scriptures actually say about the faith that saves the soul under the New Covenant. This “faith which was once and for all time delivered to God’s consecrated people,” has become so complicated, and so commercialized, that it would be difficult by my understandings to see how Jesus could recognize what is being built, said and done in our country and in our community in His name.
Paul’s introduction to Jude is interesting: “Beloved, when I was in the midst of devoting all my energy to writing to you about the faith which we all share, I felt that I was compelled to write a letter to you to urge you to engage upon the struggle to defend the faith which was once and for all delivered to God's consecrated people” (Jud 3, Barclay). To the Thessalonians Paul wrote, “and that we may be delivered from perverse (unreasonable, unrighteous) and evil (wicked) men; for not all have faith” (2Th 3:2).
