Handheld Reviews!!
For me, a great game is one that you can easily pick up & play. It is also fun and enjoyable. And even if you beat or complete it, you can still go back, play it again & have fun!

A Bit About Me
I guess I consider myself a sort-of "portable gaming enthusiast." A dictionary defines the word enthusiast as a 'person deeply involved in something, somebody who is enthusiastic about something, especially a hobby."  I am thinking that is probably the best way of putting it. There is just something about holding the technology in your hands. There is a certain thrill going on there. I like the gadgets, the portable game machines and I like the retro games.
I like those type of games in which high score is the goal. You know the type, we call them "shumups."  I like the idea of obliterating the thousands of alien ships, which are on screen, with any, or all, of the power ups that is at my disposal.  I also like 2D gaming with the parallax scrolling. I like the illusion of depth and visual effects that can be created with the use of colors and scrolling layers of graphics. It is fascinating what a good programmer can do with limited hardware. And there are so many fun games that are from the past which have been created in this way. For me the fun is not in the beating of a game, but in the playing. To me, a lot of those old games never get old and are forever fun.
It is fun watching the change and advancement in technology over the years in portable gaming. I bet no one could have visualized, when carrying and placing that big arcade machine of Space Invaders into establishments, that years later you could carry it around in your pocket. That is what, I guess, I find so fascinating. It is so much fun being able to have such great fun in your pocket. And the portable gaming gadgets just keep coming.
My main purpose in this site is to share a little of my fun, joy, and enthusiasm by analyzing various portables that I can get my hands on.  And it seems I am drawn toward oddball portables at times. Maybe someone might say to themselves, "Hey I wouldn't mind having one of those," while others might say, "Never in a million years!"
