| Alison wanted to have a party.
So, hey! We had a party.
Lots of hot dogs, Italian sausages (and they were ssssizzlin'), chili, chips, drinks, desserts, and a bonfire. We had a bunch of kids and parents over and even had a hay ride.
Here is Alison posing by the food table a few hours before everything got underway. |
 |
| Hanging around on the straw bales near the fire area before the guests arrived. |
 |
| The "hay ride". Okay, so it was in the back of the truck... but we had straw!
Well, okay, we decided at the last minute not to put the straw down in the truck. The bales were making good seats for around the fire and we didn't want to get everyone covered in straw. |
 |
We took everybody down a gravel road just down the hill from our house. It's land owned by TVA (along KY Lake) and it goes several miles into the woods ending at a cemetery. It was a great "Halloween" hay ride.
 |
The next day we took a walk down our trail to the bay. Janet noticed the TVA property marker below out in the woods about thirty feet from the trail. |
| Right where the trail opens up into the bay. At this point we've left our land and are on TVA property. A marina can be seen through the trees on the other side of the bay. | |
| Walking along the shoreline on the bay. Kentucky Lake is at winter pool right now so the water is very low. In the summer there's not much of a "beach". Some of the private boat docks in the back of the bay are sitting in mud right now. |
