Query Guidelines

I am using the CCHelper program to generate the indexed queries you find here. It's been a big help to me and I hope you like the results you see. The program does everything pretty much automatically, but there are still a few things that you need to do when you post your query to help me process them quickly and accurately.

SURNAMES

  • Put every surname in your query in CAPS at the top of the query body. This is what is used to generate the every name index.
  • Seperate each surname with a comma.
  • Do NOT use a slash ( / ) to seperate surnames of similiar spellings. If you have a surname with two different spellings, ie: BRYAN and BRYANT, show them both. It is permissible to use a slash between surnames in the body of the query however.

    BODY OF QUERY

  • NEVER use a series of dashes in your query. This is the signal to the program to start a new query and your query can get lost if I don't catch it when processing them.
  • Do NOT use a colon ( : ) in the body of your query. This can cause part of your query to get lost when I process them. Use a semicolon ( ; ) or a single dash ( - ) or a series of dots ( ... )
  • Do NOT put given names in CAPS.
