William Trice Amherst Co.,marr. Dec. 13, 1768 Molly Green, widow of Forester Green. Same date as Molly Rice, assume it is same marriage.
Found in DAR Lineage Book Vol 148 pg 155. James Trice 1762-1840 m. 1787 Mary Polly Smith.

I have a letter from Mrs. Janice Abercrombie, VA who states she abstacted a deed as follows: Louisa Deed Book W p. 276 7 March 1838 Known that Turner R. Daniel and Sarah F. Daniel, his wife, of Boone County, Missouri, formerly Sarah F. Trice, daughter of Dabney Trice of Louisa County appoint John M. Jackson of Louisa our lawful attorney to receive money from the estate of William Trice, dec'd., the grandfather of said Sarah, from Robert Trice, his administrator or executor. Deed made before Roger N. Todd, clerk of Boone Co.,Missouri. Recorded Louisa Co.,Virginia 13 Sept. 1838. That's all I know, wish I could look at the papers and see who & where the other children were. I believe that the relative that did this research did assume both Dabney's were the same, that he had married twice. Thank you for that info. I have requested that relative to send me all they have on the Trices, Daniel, Redd and Lipscomb

Some researchers claim the 2 Dabneys are one and the same but they definately are not... Dabney b 1784 and Unity died in Hopkins Co Ky in 1836. Our Dabney is the s/o William T (wifes name not known) who died ca 1811/12 in Louisa Co. Dabney who married Fanny I believe is probably the brother or cousin of William T... not sure which, and I don't know who his parents are. I have info indicating that our Dabney had brothers James, John and Anderson. Don't have anything on any sisters. nt

Sarah Trice born 1768 Orange Co. NC died 19 Sept. 1845 Marion Co. IL married 1 Oct. 1782 to Joseph Barbee son of John Barbee & Sarah Patterson. What is Sarah's ancestry. A couple of people have told me that Sarah is a daughter of Thomas Trice and Mary Major. Another person who does Trice research and whose name I've lost has said that this is impossible because Thomas' daughter Sarah married someone else.

On 8-18-97 Ted posted the following; Thanks for posting my question on the list. Richard Pickett answered right away with a lot of information about the ancestry of Sally Trice including her father Thomas Trice's will which included;

"... Item I give to my daughter Sally Barby the two Negroes I formerly got her and their increase and Joseph Barby her husband ..."

So the person who told me that Sally was not the daughter of Thomas Trice and Mary Major was wrong.

Richard also kindly included the ancestry of Thomas Trice.

posted by Peggy Trice Roloff on 08/11/97: I have just made connection with a relation in Clarksville , Tenn. After a visit and she is sending me some info. Including a letter from Dr. John Trice .. written to his parents from San Francisco, Ca in 1853. Will scan what I get as soon as I get it. Should be interesting for all relations to James, or Bingham Trice.

Leigh Trice b. 25 Aug 1791 Tn, d 13 Dec 1847, parent James Trice and Susanna? Sarah Brumfield b. 16 Sep 1803 Tn. died 20 Mar 1852, parents were Nancy Crow and Obediah Brumfield.

I have some census that I have copied on the Trices in Ballard Co., Ky 1870. do you want these copied and sent to you?

All three HOOKs were brothers, sons of Elijah HOOK and Pheba REEVES.
All three TRICEs were sisters, daughters of Leigh TRICE and Sarah BRUMFIELD.

Regarding marriage recorded in both Chatham and Orange Counties, NC;
Gunter, D. C. Trice, Jane J. 5 Jan 1865 Chatham

My grandfather's records indicate a marriage date of 2 January 1865 in Orange County, NC (could have been the license date) between Demetrius C. GUNTER and Jane TRICE. Their daughter, Emma Gunter, married James Edward PICKETT, my double first cousin, three times removed.

I have no idea of Jane TRICE's ancestry. Can you help me connect her to her TRICE line? Do you know of any other GUNTER descendants?

Response from Mary Lou Lisenbe; The book that I got this from indicates that 2 Jan is the marriage bond date; 5 Jan is the actual marriage date.
